Kirtling, together with Kirtling Green and Kirtling Towers, is a scattered settlement in the south-eastern edge of the English county of Cambridgeshire. It is about half an hour from our base in Cambridge.
We parked in the car park of the village hall and walked along good tracks, field edges, past woods and fields using this rough map (courtesy of Stapleford Strollers)
The Red Lion at Kirtling was unavailable for food so we drove a little further and enjoyed hospitality at The Three Blackbirds in Woodditton.
We were lucky with the weather and had a relaxing morning.
