After months of overcast cloud and spells of heavy rain it was good to get out on a firm country surface, surrounded by crops and with the sun in the sky.
We parked at The Crown, Linton, which we have visited before and where we had booked lunch, and set out on a compact circular walk of less than five miles across fields and from time to time overgrown paths, taking in the village of Hadstock and returning to The Crown for a very good value lunch.
